Products and Services Covered
Warranty coverage may apply to eligible products and services including:
- laptops
- laptop batteries
- laptop chargers and power adapters
- laptop screens and display panels
- laptop keyboards
- SSDs, storage devices and RAM
- cooling fans and selected internal laptop components
- laptop accessories and replacement parts
- selected laptop repair, replacement and upgrade services
The exact coverage depends on the product or service supplied. Product-specific terms may apply and should be read with this general policy.
Standard 6-Month Warranty
Unless a different warranty period is clearly stated for a specific item or service, eligible Laptop Souq products are covered by a 6-month warranty.
For covered repair work, replacement parts supplied and installed by Laptop Souq are also generally covered for 6 months unless the invoice or service confirmation states a different period.
The standard warranty is intended to cover confirmed product or workmanship defects arising during normal and appropriate use. It does not cover every form of damage, wear, misuse or unrelated laptop fault.
Products That May Have a Different Warranty
Some products or services may carry a warranty period that is shorter or longer than 6 months. This can occur because of manufacturer or distributor terms, product condition, product category, supplier arrangements, or the nature of the service performed.
A different warranty period may apply to, for example:
- certain new laptops with manufacturer warranty
- refurbished, used or open-box laptops
- special-order or limited-availability components
- products covered directly by a manufacturer or authorised distributor
- selected accessories or consumable-type items
- specific repair or data-related services
Where a different period applies, it will be disclosed on the product page, invoice, order confirmation, warranty document or service record. The clearly stated product-specific warranty will apply to that product or service.
When Warranty Coverage Starts
Unless otherwise stated, the warranty period begins on the date the customer receives the product or the date the relevant repair or service is completed.
Customers should keep appropriate proof of purchase, such as:
- invoice
- order confirmation
- receipt
- warranty document
- service completion record
Manufacturer, Distributor and Laptop Souq Warranties
Some products may be covered by a manufacturer or distributor warranty, while others are supported directly by Laptop Souq.
Where applicable, the product information or purchase documentation should identify whether warranty support is provided by the manufacturer, distributor, Laptop Souq or another clearly identified provider.
A manufacturer warranty may have its own procedures and exclusions. Laptop Souq will not intentionally describe a warranty as a manufacturer warranty unless it is genuinely supplied or supported by the relevant manufacturer or authorised party.
What the Warranty Normally Covers
Subject to any product-specific terms, warranty coverage generally applies to confirmed defects arising from the product itself or from covered Laptop Souq workmanship during normal use.
Examples may include:
- manufacturing defects
- internal electrical or component failure not caused by misuse
- a covered product failing to perform according to its stated specifications
- a replacement part supplied by Laptop Souq developing a covered fault
- a problem directly caused by covered Laptop Souq repair workmanship
A reported fault may need to be inspected and tested before warranty eligibility can be confirmed.
Laptop Battery Warranty
Most eligible laptop batteries supplied by Laptop Souq include the standard 6-month warranty unless a different period is stated for the specific battery.
Battery warranty may cover confirmed defects such as:
- the battery not being detected by a compatible laptop because of an internal battery fault
- failure to charge because of a confirmed battery defect
- premature functional failure caused by a manufacturing defect
- another fault specifically covered by the applicable warranty
Laptop batteries naturally lose capacity over time. Battery runtime is affected by charging cycles, temperature, laptop settings, workload and normal ageing. Gradual reduction in battery capacity through normal use is not automatically a manufacturing defect.
Warranty may not apply where battery damage results from physical impact, puncture, liquid exposure, excessive heat, incorrect installation, incompatible equipment, unauthorised modification or other misuse.
A swollen or unsafe battery should not continue to be used or charged. Contact Laptop Souq for guidance.
Laptop Charger and Power Adapter Warranty
Most eligible laptop chargers and power adapters include the standard 6-month warranty unless otherwise stated.
Warranty may cover confirmed internal electrical or manufacturing faults. It normally does not cover cut or torn cables, bent or broken connectors, liquid damage, impact, excessive pulling or twisting, incorrect use, modification, or damage caused after delivery.
A charger submitted under warranty may be tested for output, connector condition, wattage, charging behaviour and compatibility.
Laptop Screen Warranty
Eligible laptop screens normally include the standard 6-month warranty unless the product page, invoice or service confirmation states otherwise.
Warranty may cover confirmed manufacturing or functional defects. Physical damage that occurs after delivery or installation is not the same as a manufacturing defect.
Warranty normally does not cover:
- cracked panels
- impact damage
- pressure marks caused after installation
- liquid damage
- torn display cables caused by unauthorised installation
- damaged connectors
- damage caused by incorrect third-party installation
If Laptop Souq installed the screen and a fault relates directly to our covered installation work, the issue will be reviewed under the repair/service warranty.
Keyboards and Internal Laptop Parts
Eligible keyboards, cooling fans, speakers, DC jacks, internal cables and other replacement parts generally include the standard 6-month warranty unless a different period is stated.
Coverage may be declined where damage results from improper installation, torn cables, broken connectors, liquid exposure, accidental damage, unsuitable power, unauthorised modification or misuse.
SSD, RAM and Storage Warranty
Eligible SSD, RAM and storage products generally include a 6-month warranty unless the product carries a different manufacturer or product-specific warranty.
Warranty generally applies to confirmed hardware faults, not software or operating-system issues unrelated to the hardware.
Customers are responsible for maintaining backups of important information. A hardware warranty is not a guarantee against data loss.
Complete Laptop Warranty
The warranty for a complete laptop depends on its manufacturer, model, condition and the warranty stated at the time of sale.
Laptop Souq's standard warranty is 6 months where no different warranty is stated. Some laptops may include a different manufacturer, distributor or Laptop Souq warranty period.
New, refurbished, used and open-box laptops can have different warranty arrangements. Customers should review the warranty information shown for the specific laptop before purchase.
Refurbished, Used and Open-Box Products
Refurbished, used or open-box products may carry a warranty period different from the standard 6 months. The applicable duration will be stated before purchase.
Cosmetic marks, signs of previous use or other condition details that were clearly disclosed before purchase are not considered defects simply because the product is not cosmetically identical to a new product.
Warranty for Repair and Upgrade Services
Unless otherwise stated on the invoice or service confirmation, eligible Laptop Souq repair workmanship and replacement parts supplied as part of the repair are generally covered for 6 months.
A repair warranty relates to the specific work performed and the covered replacement part installed. It does not automatically cover unrelated components or future faults elsewhere in the laptop.
If a problem is believed to relate to Laptop Souq's repair work, the device should be returned to us for inspection before the same issue is repaired or modified by another provider.
Replacement Parts Used During Repairs
Depending on availability and the agreed quotation, parts used during repairs may be original, OEM, compatible replacement, refurbished or another clearly described condition.
Where the installed part carries a different warranty period from the standard 6 months, that period will be stated in the relevant service documentation.
Laptop Souq will not intentionally represent a compatible replacement component as an original manufacturer component.
What Is Not Normally Covered
Subject to applicable consumer rights and any product-specific terms, warranty coverage normally does not include damage or failure caused by:
- accidental drops, impact or crushing
- cracks or other physical damage
- liquid or moisture exposure
- misuse, abuse or improper handling
- incorrect or unauthorised installation
- third-party repair or modification that causes or contributes to the fault
- use with incompatible equipment or unsuitable power supplies
- improper storage or excessive environmental exposure
- malware, operating-system problems or software issues unrelated to covered hardware
- normal wear and tear
- faults caused by another component not covered by the relevant warranty
Any product-specific exclusion that may invalidate warranty coverage should be disclosed clearly with the relevant product or service.
Normal Wear and Tear
Warranty coverage protects against covered defects; it does not mean an electronic product will remain in new condition throughout its usable life.
Normal wear may include:
- gradual reduction in battery capacity
- ordinary cosmetic marks
- normal keyboard or trackpad wear
- normal cable wear that is not caused by a manufacturing fault
- fan dust accumulation
- other deterioration reasonably expected through regular use
Accidental and Liquid Damage
Unless a specific product or service expressly includes accidental-damage protection, accidental and liquid damage are not normally covered by warranty.
Examples include dropped laptops, cracked screens, bent chassis, broken ports caused by force, water or drink spills, and damage occurring during customer or third-party installation.
Third-Party Repairs and Modifications
Customers should contact Laptop Souq before allowing another repair provider to alter the product or component that is the subject of a warranty claim.
Third-party work does not automatically remove unrelated legal rights, but warranty coverage may be affected if another repair, modification or replacement caused, contributed to or prevents accurate assessment of the reported fault.
Serial Numbers and Product Identification
Laptop Souq may use serial numbers, service tags, part numbers, warranty labels or other identifiers to verify warranty eligibility.
Customers should not intentionally remove, alter or obscure product identifiers. We may be unable to verify a warranty claim where identification has been deliberately removed or materially altered.
How to Make a Warranty Claim
For warranty assistance, contact Laptop Souq and provide as much of the following information as reasonably available:
- customer name
- order, invoice or service reference number
- product name
- laptop model
- serial or part number
- description of the problem
- photographs or video where relevant
- the date the issue began
Do not unnecessarily dismantle or continue using a product where doing so may worsen the fault or create a safety risk.
Inspection and Testing
Products submitted under warranty may be inspected and tested before a remedy is approved. Testing may determine whether a defect exists, whether the product is compatible, whether physical damage is present, whether the issue is covered, and whether another component is causing the reported problem.
The presence of a fault does not automatically mean the product submitted is defective. For example, a laptop that does not charge may have a battery, charger, charging port or motherboard fault.
Warranty Remedies
Where a valid warranty claim is confirmed, the appropriate remedy will depend on the product, fault, warranty terms, part availability, manufacturer or distributor procedures, and applicable law.
An appropriate remedy may include:
- repair
- replacement
- correction or re-performance of the covered service
- another suitable remedy
- refund where required or appropriate
A warranty claim does not automatically mean an immediate cash refund is the only remedy. Applicable consumer rights remain unaffected.
Replacement Products
Where a defective product is replaced under warranty, the replacement may be the same product or an appropriate equivalent where the original item is unavailable, subject to applicable law and customer agreement where required.
No materially different substitute that affects compatibility will be supplied without informing the customer.
Warranty Assessment and Repair Time
The time required to inspect, repair or replace a warranty item depends on the type of product, fault, testing required, part availability, and whether a manufacturer or distributor must be involved.
Laptop Souq will aim to keep the customer informed where additional processing time is required. A fixed warranty turnaround is not guaranteed unless it has been expressly confirmed for the relevant product or service.
Data on Devices Submitted Under Warranty
Laptops, SSDs and storage devices may contain personal files and accounts. Customers should back up important information before submitting a device for warranty inspection whenever reasonably possible.
Customers should remove sensitive information where practical. Personal information will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Warranty service is not a substitute for maintaining independent backups of important data.
Proof of Purchase
Proof of purchase may be required to confirm warranty eligibility. Suitable evidence may include a Laptop Souq invoice, receipt, order confirmation, customer account record or another record that reasonably confirms the transaction.
Warranty and Returns Are Different
The Warranty Policy and Returns & Refunds Policy serve different purposes.
The Returns & Refunds Policy covers matters such as eligible 7-day change-of-mind returns, incorrect products, damaged deliveries, cancellations, exchanges and refunds.
This Warranty Policy primarily covers defects or covered problems arising during the applicable warranty period.
Consumer Rights
This Warranty Policy operates alongside applicable consumer-protection laws and regulations in the United Arab Emirates.
Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude, restrict or reduce any customer right or supplier obligation that cannot lawfully be excluded.
If a mandatory legal requirement provides greater protection than a provision in this policy, the applicable legal requirement will prevail.
Updates to This Warranty Policy
Laptop Souq may update this Warranty Policy to reflect changes in our products, suppliers, manufacturer warranties, repair services, business procedures or applicable legal requirements.
The latest version will be published on this page with an updated revision date. An update will not retrospectively remove warranty or consumer rights that already apply to an accepted purchase or completed service.
